Federal Contracts
Through Goodwill Specialty Services, Inc. (G.S.S.I.), federal contracts are attained from government agencies providing program participants with disabilities employment in a supportive, team-oriented work environment. Federal contracts supervisors provide employees with continuous encouragement and assistance.

G.S.S.I. offers full and part-time positions. Employees are assigned to work with a team, under the direct supervision of a team leader. Teams are comprised of 4-5 workers and a team leader.  As the employee progresses in their performance and productivity, they may be assigned additional duties and responsibilities.

Employment opportunities are available at Offutt Air Force Base, STRATCOM, Offutt Postal Services, the IRS building, the Lincoln Federal Building, and the V.A. Hospital. Federal contracts positions include custodial, postal, and grounds maintenance. The duration of this program is indefinite.

G.S.S.I. has been providing job opportunities to individuals with disabilities since 1989. In 2005, G.S.S.I. employed 180 individuals, in which 80% were individuals with a disability.

Custodial Services
G.S.S.I. provides custodial services to various federal buildings including Offutt Airforce Base and STRATCOM in Bellevue, Nebraska, the IRS building in Omaha, Nebraska and the Denney Federal Buildingin Lincoln, Nebraska. Other locations include the American Red Cross and the Nebraska Children’s Home Society in Omaha, Nebraska.

Job duties include floor care, vacuuming, dusting, sweeping, and carpet shampooing.

Individuals are paid based on productivity, with the maximum wage of $9.72/hr.

Grounds Maintenance Services
G.S.S.I. provides grounds maintenance services to the Veterans Administration Hospital in Omaha located at 41st & Center Streets.

Job duties include lawn mowing, landscaping, tree trimming, irrigating, trash removal, grounds security, and snow removal.

Individuals are paid based on productivity, with the maximum wage of $10.46/hr.

Postal Services
G.S.S.I. provides postal services for Stratcom and Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Nebraska.

Job duties include receive, sort, x-ray, and deliver incoming mail, meter and process outgoing mail, test for explosives using an Ion Scan, process UPS packages, and provide customer service to all military personal.

Postal employees can earn the maximum wage of $13.10/hr.
