Does my troop have to drop of their donations as one big group or can my Girl Scouts come independently at different times on April 26th?
Girl Scouts can drop off the donations as one big troop OR they can come individually or in small groups with their parents. If Girls Scouts come at different times, please make sure the Girl Scouts tell a Goodwill representative their troop number when dropping of their donations so that their items are counted toward the troops’ total.
Can my Girl Scouts drop off donations at different Goodwill Retail Centers?
We ask that Girl Scouts only come to the Goodwill Retail Center that is chosen by the troop leader (the site selected on the registration form). If Girl Scouts from the same troop need to come to different Goodwill Retail Centers, please contact Brent Koster at 402-522-7225 or bkoster@goodwillomaha.org
How many volunteers can I have helping my troop?
You can have as many volunteers help out as you want.
How many door hangers do we distribute?
Each Girl Scout will receive 20 door hangers. Feel free to distribute as many of these as possible. Goodwill encourages troops/scouts to hand out all the door hangers, but the troops/scouts do not have to distribute all the door hangers. Some troops just decide to clean out their own homes and bring their personal donations to Goodwill – this is completely fine! Of course, we want to encourage each troop to participate as actively as possible, making it more likely to win a pizza party at the Amazing Pizza Machine and a Plaque noting their achievement!!
When do we drop begin collecting donations?
The door hangers invite the household to have their donations out on their curb by 9:00 a.m. on April 26th. You may begin collecting donations at this time.
What if a household donates a large item we are unable to transport?
No problem! You DO NOT have to take any donation that is too big or that you are unable to transport to your chosen donation site. This is also stated on the door hangers to inform the household.
