Through Goodwill’s Outsource Solutions program individuals with special needs are provided employment opportunities in a supportive environment. Outsource Solutions is designed to provide work to individuals who do not feel comfortable entering into the competitive work force at this time. This can be temporary placement while an individual is engaged in job development activities, or long-term employment if the individual has issues that keep community employment from being the desired outcome. The program provides its employees with work of a routine and repetitive nature, most of which can be performed while sitting.

The Outsource Solutions program partners with area companies to provide supplemental business support by taking on a variety of projects and completing them in timely and cost-efficient manner. The work assigned to Outsource Solutions’ employees is contracted with area businesses and varies from entry-level to specialized positions performed at that company. Job duties are assigned based on the availability of work and the capability of the employee.

Employees are paid for work performed as compared to an industry standard for experienced workers. Individuals who participate in this program receive earnings according to their job performance and productivity on a per piece rate. Goodwill staff and supervisors provide support to assist each employee to maximize their earning capacity.

Individuals who have had limited successful work history or have been out of the work force for a significant period of time.
People who require simple and repetitive work.
Individuals with a history of back or other orthopedic problems, which may restrict their physical movements.
People in a work hardening, return-to-work, or light duty program.
People who do not require the one-on-one supervision of job coaching.
Individuals must have documentation of being disabled for the work to be performed.

Individuals with identified disabilities that limit their ability to obtain employment through traditional channels.
Individuals who do not qualify for third party funding for traditional rehabilitation programs.
Individuals who are not, or feel they are not, capable of meeting the demands of a competitive work environment.
