Youthbuild Omaha is a program for young adults between the ages of 16-24 years who do not have a high school diploma. In the 24-month program, participants will spend time in the classroom earning their GED while working with Habitat for Humanity to learn construction skills and build homes for low-income families.

You could be eligible for the Youthbuild Omaha Program. Youthbuild is a national educational, leadership, development and occupational skill-training program for disadvantaged young adults, ages 16–24. Participants will divide their time between classroom-based learning activities and on-site construction training.

Youthbuild Omaha is a 24-month program involving a strong consortium of partners including Metropolitan Community College (Metro) and Habitat for Humanity.

Participants will work with Habitat for Humanity to build three homes for low-income families. Participants will learn basic construction skills, tool identification, and blue print reading. Metro will provide GED preparation and leadership development. The program will be housed at Goodwill Industies at 1111 South 41st Street.

Upon completion of the program, graduates of Youthbuild Omaha will receive placement and follow-up services.
