make your move! Partnership for Youth Development is a program aimed at in-school and out-of-school youth who want the skills to prepare for and find a job. Unemployed or underemployed youth who participate in the program receive counseling and job readiness training while receiving personal attention that can make a real difference in their career future. The Tri-County Partnership for Youth Development serves low-income youth, ages 16 to 21, who may be high school drop-outs, at risk of, or involved in gang-related activities, homelessness, have substance abuse or mental health issues, or learning disabilities. Goodwill Industries oversees the Partnership program and partners with the following organizations to provide a one-stop-shop of personalized services for each program participant: Boys and Girls Club of Omaha; Bellevue University; Bellevue Public Schools; Metro Community College; Turning Point; Eastern Nebraska Community Action Partnership (formerly known as GOCA); Release Ministries; and Blair Public Schools. Eligible youth can recieve the education and training that is right for them. The Partnership program helps participants sharpen their job readiness skills, discover their true career path, and provides the job, education or vocational training placement leading to full-time employment. The Partnership services are FREE to those who meet program requirements and eligable youth are PAID while active in the program!! The Partnership program is funded through the Workforce Investment Act. Since April, 2005, the program has served over 700 area youth. The Partnership program has offices and provides services in the following locations: Blair Chamber of Commerce at 1646 Washington Street (Blair); Blue Lion at 24th & Lake (Omaha); Boys & Girls Club North at 2606 Hamilton (Omaha); Boys & Girls Club South at 5051 S. 22nd Street (Omaha); The Bellevue Support Center at 2820 Aboretum Drive (Bellevue).
